A top space boffiness claims thousands of planets being discovered in recent years proves aliens exist.

Last year NASA revealed that it has now discovered more than 5,000 exoplanets - a planet that orbits a star outside the solar system.

Maggie Aderin-Pocock, presenter of BBC TV series The Sky at Night, says we would be “conceited” to think there are no little green men due to so many other worlds being found.

She said: "Are the aliens out there? I would say yes. Almost definitely. It seems that most stars out there have planets going round it.

"And so that 300 billion stars in our galaxy, let’s say just an average two planets going around each one of those stars in the whole of the universe, 200 billion galaxies."

She continued: "That’s often a question I ask, if we had a news report, you know, ‘We are hearing,’ you know, ‘We’ve got the latest. Aliens have landed. The aliens are here.'

"Who would freak out and who would be excited? And I’d put both hands up." Maggie also told how she reckons it is possible grow food on Mars.

But it would have to be done in a biodome greenhouse with artificial light because Mars is further from the sun. She told the Dish From Waitrose podcast: "I’m pretty convinced you could grow, you know."

Maggie added that sauce maker Heinz proved food could be grown on the Red Planet when it grew tomatoes in a Mars-like condition as part of an experiment in 2021.

It comes as the Daily Star reported aliens and dinosaurs could have roamed the Earth together according to recently released research. Boffins believe the oxygen and methane on planet Earth would have made quite the alluring delight for space-based creatures.
