Many players once considered to be the hottest properties in world football have suddenly found themselves in the free agent wilderness, three months into the new season

Few sports are as fast-moving as football.
One minute, you could find yourself climbing the steps of Europe's biggest venues to lift the Champions League or the FA Cup - the next, you are on the phone to your agent, wondering where the next club is going to come from. Many big name players will find major trophies and medals in their cabinets, but no club jersey to don on the weekend.
Whether it is a question of wages, injuries or age catching up with them, many players are stuck in the free-agent wilderness. Daily Star Sport considers 12 players who do not have a club to call their own.
Jesse Lingard
After spending the pre-season training with West Ham United, Lingard then started working under Steven Gerrard at Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq. However, the Middle Eastern giants opted to not sign the former England international, leaving him without a team this season
