A gigolo earning more than £1,000 for a night of fun says that many of his female clients will tell him things that they won’t tell their own husbands.
Polish-born Tom told the Soft White Underbelly podcast that at first, he’s hired for sex but very soon the women “get comfortable,” and it becomes a more romantic proposition.
"After the first day they want actually more just to hang out and be with somebody," he said. "All women really want is a good listener".
While female sex workers can commonly take less than ten minutes to service their clients, Tom says his jobs take a lot longer – “at least three hours” – and he has often been engaged for a week at a time. An overnight session with him costs $1,250 (just over £1,000), while a week of Tom’s time would set you back more like $8,000.

He says his clients are often married, while some others are single businesswomen who “don’t have time to be in a relationship.” He says that the women may have tried being in a more conventional relationship with a man, but the “quality of the relationship was not what they expected.”
Tom, 34, says he grew up with a lot of freedom and ended up hanging out with some pretty unsavoury characters. “I was doing bad stuff; I was a drug dealer, I was a hooligan – you know just like a gang member or something.”
He added: "But the thing is that being a hooligan or a drug dealer – somebody that doesn’t obey the law– it's like a drug too. You have the power, people are intimidated by you, especially in my community where I was very known.”

But Tom said he tired of the criminal life because it was making a “horrible person” and decided to become a stock broker instead.
Despite that, he was tempted to join a friend in a cigarette-smuggling enterprise.
“I was pretty good at it,” he said. “It was insane money, I was making $60,000 a week but it’s also illegal.”
Eventually, the law caught up with him and he was jailed for three and a half years. It was after his release that he decided to become an “entrepreneur and companion.” He’s been an escort for around five years.
He told the podcast he’s making good money, and he loves having sex with his clients.
“I have some that are more than just a client, it’s more like a friendship," he said.
He also offers a “boyfriend experience,” which often involves going for dinner, or a show.
Tom admitted he probably charges a little more than other men in his line of work, but he “deserves it” because he provides a better experience. He said that sometimes, women’s husbands have booked his services for them as a gift, and will even sit and watch as he has sex with their wives.
He said a few of his customers are about his age, but most are in their forties or older. But he doesn't think too much about the appearance of the women that hire him.
“I’ve had so many women in my life, that it’s not so much about the looks, it’s more about the personality."
