Matt Di Angelo rose to fame in 2006 after he was cast as EastEnders ' Dean Wicks - the great nephew of Albert Square legend, Pat Butcher, and estranged son of Shirley Carter.
His character was soon thrust into a series of major storylines making him a hated character, particularly following the rape of Linda Carter. Dean departed Walford shortly after and Matt landed a leading role in crime drama Hustle, before returning to the BBC soap in 2014.
Another two-year stint followed, before the actor - born Mario Angelo S Constantinou - moved on again to feature in another drama, Ordinary Lies. In the midst of his fame, meanwhile, the 36-year old enjoyed a successful run on Strictly Come Dancing in 2007 - finishing as runner-up alongside professional dance partner, Flavia Cacace.

The pair's chemistry translated into a relationship that lasted for three years, until "busy work schedules" forced them to go their separate ways. Away from the screen Matt would go on to meet Sophia Perry in 2014, who he married two years ago.
Now, as Matt is back on EastEnders for a third time ahead of a major murder storyline this Christmas, we look back at his love life with wife, Sophia Perry.
The couple first went public nine years ago as the smitten duo shared a series of snaps together on their travels to social media. It was on one of those trips that Matt eventually popped the question - in 2019 in the idyllic surroundings of the Dominican Republic.
Matt announced the news to the public via his Instagram account, sharing a snap of the pair enjoying pizza and champagne by the beach as Sophia donned her diamond engagement ring. He simply wrote: "Got pizza today."
Sophia expanded on that in her own post, however, excitedly declaring: "I heart PIZZA... AND MY FIANCÉ." Earlier that day Sophia had shared a video of the couple taking off in a helicopter as Matt pulled out all the stops to make it a day to remember.
Matt and Sophia married in September 2021 in a lavish ceremony held at London's Grosvenor Chapel. Taking to Instagram again on the big day, Matt shared a black and white video showing off his blushing bride's stunning hair and makeup, plus his own dashing attire.
After simply captioning the post 'Married', the pair headed to their reception in Dorchester where a video update followed. "Well….that escalated quickly," Matt added.
Less than a year later Matt revealed the pair were expecting as he posted a sweet gender reveal video to Instagram. And much to the delight of his fans the clip revealed the happy couple were expecting one of each.
"The lottery of life," he captioned the post. "Still a fair way to go but we feel VERY blessed." Matt then joked: "The boy's name will be JACK, and the girl's will be POT."
