Coronation Street’s Carla Connor could be set to strike up an unexpected romance with Ryan Connor, AI has claimed.
The character, played by Alison King, has been a regular on the ITV soap for years - making her debut back in 2006. Since then, she’s become a firm favorite with viewers.
And it’s fair to say Carla has been involved in several big storylines during her time on the cobbles. Over on the soap at the moment, she is currently facing heartache in the aftermath of Stephen Reid’s murder.

As fans will recall, the killer (Todd Boyce) stole £250,000 from her business Underworld. Stephen was then killed, and mowed down, by Carla’s beau Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
Peter has managed to be in the clear legally so far. However he has still been consumed with guilt over killing someone.
Meanwhile in a last-minute attempt to save her business, last week Carla headed off to Spain. Back in the cobbles, Peter appeared to be getting friendly with Toyah - sparking frenzy amongst fans that he will cheat on Carla with her.
Carla soon arrived back from Spain but unfortunately, the trip was a waste. The stress of the factory, combined with Peter’s drama, left Carla confessing to Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that she doesn’t think her marriage with Peter will survive.
And aside from viewers thinking Peter and Toyah could embark on an affair, it’s now been claimed Carla could find comfort in someone else’s arms. With fears that Carla and Peter will split, Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see who Carla could start a romance with on the soap.
The program said that “it is possible” that Carla and Ryan Connor could explore a romantic relationship. Bard AI explained: “there are also a number of other factors that could influence this decision, such as the chemistry between the actors, the reaction of the audience, and the overall direction of the show.”
The system went on: “They have a strong connection, and they have shown that they care about each other deeply.” Fans will remember that Carla has been supporting Ryan since his horrific acid attack earlier this year. The pair, who are adoptive distant cousins, have a very close bond.

Bard AI also added: “Carla has been shown to be attracted to Ryan in the past, suggesting that there is already a spark between them.” What’s more, the program also claimed that if Carla were to end things with Peter, she would “be free to pursue a relationship with Ryan without any complications.”
Fans have also echoed Bard AI’s thoughts that Carla and Ryan could strike up a romance. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “I fear a Carla and Ryan affair will be on the cards after Peter leaves.” Someone else added: “Carla and Ryan are getting together, calling to now.” A third mused: “I would love to see Carla and Ryan have an affair.”
