Coronation Street fans were left doing a double take after a famous star Carla Medonça returned to the cobbles.

In Monday’s episode (November 20) Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) was determined to get to the bottom of son Dylan’s missing trainers. As fans of the soap will recall the shoes were taken by bully Mason Radcliffe.

Realising Dylan (Liam McCheyne) was not revealing the truth, Sean contacted the school. However, Mason (Luca Toolan) planted the trainers in Liam Connor’s locker and was caught out by everyone.

Despite being innocent, Liam (Charlie Wrenshall) took the blame. Mum Maria Windass (Samia Longchambon) was then called into the school to talk about his behaviour.

But fans of the soap were left stunned when Orla Crawshaw made an appearance. The deputy head of Weatherfield High is played Carla Medonça.

Carla is probably best known for playing the mother alien Sophie Johnson in ITV and City’s award-winning series My Parents Are Aliens. The children’s programme aired from 1999 to 2006 and was a firm-favourite with viewers.

However, over in Weatherfield, viewers couldn’t help but point out Carla's brand new look. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were swooning over her hair transformation.
