Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw has revealed what drama is set to unfold in the fictional village over the festival period.
The series producer has teased what Christmas is going to look like for several fan favourites and it will not be the most wonderful time of year for some. It has been confirmed that the identity of Chloe Harris' (Jessie Elland) dad will finally be revealed in a gripping twist which is set to leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
Fans have been trying to guess who Chloe's father for months and will be explained in upcoming scenes of the ITV soap which will air in December. There is also trouble ahead for secret lovers Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) as someone catches them out after the "most Christmas dinner ever". Will Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) learn about his wife's affair with his uncle before 2024 arrives?

Elsewhere, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) get surprise visitors for Christmas in the form of her ex-husband Gus Malcolm (Alan McKenna) and his baby daughter Ivy, who is biologically Rhona's after he used her frozen embryo without her permission to conceive a child with his new wife Lucy, who sadly passed away after giving birth to the little girl. Daily Star has taken a look at what Laura has teased about the "slightly edgier" Christmas in Emmerdale.
Chloe's dad's identity revealed
Laura said: "The Chloe, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) love triangle has been bubbling away for 18 months or so now so what we'll see at Christmas is that reach a more of crescendo where Mackenzie pushes Chloe to her absolute limits and what we will see is her reach out to her father for help.
"Obviously from a previous storyline we know Chloe's dad is not somebody to be messed about with, quite a dark character, we know he was quite controlling with Chloe and that people are afraid of him. When she reaches out to him we'll see him helping Chloe in his own unique way. Is Mackenzie going to be able to talk his way out of this one? I'm not sure but we'll have to wait and see. I think it's sure to see that the repercussions of that are going to be long lasting into the new year and beyond."
Rhona baby bombshell
Opening up about what's next for Marlon and Rhona following the shock death of Lucy, Laura explained: "We've just seen on screen that Lucy sadly died after the birth of baby Ivy and what we will see going forward is Gus starting to struggle with his grief being a single parent to little Ivy and that's hugely going to impact on Rhona and Marlon's Christmas. How is Marlon going to cope if Rhona wants to reach out and help baby Ivy?
Will Gus let Rhona help with baby Ivy? and what are the repercussions going to be on their children Leo and April? Rhona is pushed to breaking point and is forced to make a risky decision which threaten to possibly change the dynamics of her family. Can she be talked around or will she lose everything in her quest to help baby Ivy?"
Caleb and Tracy affair exposed
As Caleb and Tracy continue to get close to each other, Laura teased: "We've started Caleb and Tracy's dangerous affair, they are like fire on screen I think. We will see a bit more of that over Christmas and we will see the most awkward Christmas dinner ever when those lot are sat around the table at the Dingles together and somebody on Christmas Day is going to find out their dark secret and threatens to blow that."
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30
