I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Fred Sirieix's fiancé Fruitcake has defended her TV star husband-to-be with a supportive post after Nella Rose took offence to his comment.

The 51-year-old First Dates star found himself in hot water with YouTuber Nella, 26, on Tuesday's episode (November 21) after he made a comment regarding his own age that seemed to cause great upset to the young online personality. He said: "I could be your dad."

Nella said in camp that her parents died when she was a little younger, so the reference appeared to bring up some deep trauma. The YouTube star made it clear she wanted to completely segregate herself from the Channel 4 star for the time being.

The blazing row unfolded the following morning, after Fred was completely snubbed by Nella. He approached her to understand what he'd done wrong offering up his "apologies" even though he was called "stupid" and "a weirdo" by the internet sensation.

It proved to be a "tough watch" for Fred's family as they tuned in from home to see the argument rage on. Nella later refused to eat the chef's cooking of crocodile legs and rice as part of her protest.

In support of her husband-to-be, Fred's fiancé Fruitcake took to her Instagram story to share her pride for the TV star along with throwing all of her support behind him with a defensive statement. She urgied: "Keep your head up Fred."

Including a picture of her partner in his Australian camp bed with a slight smile on his face, she penned: "Tough watch for some of the show tonight but Fred did us so proud. We know his intention would never be to upset anyone. Keep your head up Fred we love you."

The argument just seemed to come out of nowhere after Nella visited the Bush Telegraph, explaining that she'd been more offended that Fred had made the joke after she had opened up to him "about the fact my dad’s passed away". Speaking to camera she said: "I didn’t say anything about it last night because I was kind of just annoyed about it. So I slept on it … and I was just like, this is not the kind of person I want to be around."

In the heated spat Nella fumed: "You know that my mum’s dead, and you know that my dad’s dead. You know that, right? I’ve come to find out that every time I wanna get creative around the fire, or I want to have something my way, my own food that I am entitled to, my way, you tend to get an attitude, right?"

She went on: "I don’t care how you said it to me, it’s disrespectful and I don’t want to talk to you. I don’t want to be around you. I only allow people to disrespect me once. You hurt my feelings. I was very upset… you keep trying to speak to me when I don't want to speak to you."

Nella told him: "I would rather stay away from you, I don’t want to eat your food, I don’t want to talk to you. We can just live, you live on that side, I live on this side."

"I made a mistake and I said something and I offended you, I’m really sorry. I’m really sorry you feel like this," responded Fred.
