Leeds United have begrudgingly agreed to sell 15-year-old talent Finley Gorman to Manchester City for a British record fee, according to reports.

Gorman has attracted interest from the Premier League champions in recent months thanks to performances beyond his years. He became the youngest-ever player to score twice in a Prem under-18 fixture last season.

And his showings for Leeds' academy earned him his England U16 debut earlier this season, when he was still only 14. The Athletic broke this week that City have had a fee in excess of £1million accepted.

But having visited City's training complex, Gorman had his heart set on leaving. As he isn't eligible to sign a professional contract until he turns 17 in September 2025, Leeds had little control over the matter.

It's believed as well as the up front fee, they're in line to receive a number of future performance bonuses should Gorman progress as hoped and break through into the first team set-up.
