A stay-at-home wife whose husband pays her to look after the house has claimed it's the "best job ever" as she hits out at "feminist clowns" who criticise their arrangement.

Alyssa Drummond, 28, met her husband, Tom, 51, while they were both working in the military and she "shot her shot". The couple, who have been together for two and a half years, eventually got engaged.

And as she was juggling work with studying at the time she got a "sneaking suspicion" Tom would prefer her to stay at home. So she decided to quit her military job in favour of being "employed" as a housewife.

Alyssa is now urging other women to do the same. "My husband employs me to take care of the home and I encourage other women to pursue the same dynamic for their future financial success," she told Truly's Love Don't Judge YouTube series.

Explaining her day-to-day life, Alyssa added: "I do most of the cooking and cleaning, I do most of the laundry as well. He works for a long time, sometimes it's 10 hours a day so I just take care of the house while he's gone."

Alyssa claims being a housewife comes with better pay than other jobs she's had. She said: "I earn more now married than I did when I was in the military and it's the best job I've ever had. I would probably be considered on his bankroll, he pays for my living and there's a health insurance plan."

Tom didn't realise he wanted a traditional housewife for a partner until he met his partner. He explained: "I honestly thought I wanted a physicist triathlete, that was my mindset. Until I got into a relationship with Aly I didn’t even know how wonderful having a traditional relationship with gender separations is."

Explaining their financial arrangement he added: "I basically said 'Hey look how much money do you need per week to do fun things?' she said 'I need $100 for my snacks and my coffee' and I'm like 'Okay', we got rid of all her credit cards, we opened up new credit cards under my account so now I can see all of her purchases and she's very disciplined."

Alyssa said she's been accused of being a gold digger by trolls, however, she claims she doesn't want to "drain" her husband like "some wives."

But despite being adamant the arrangement has left her better off financially, people were left shocked by how little she's paid.

One person commented on the YouTube interview: "Only $100? this dynamic honestly exists in a lot of relationships and if you’re gonna broadcast it at least get paid a good amount… my mom has never had a job and my dad gives her $1,000 a month essentially for doing the same thing. They’ve been together for 42 years."

A second wrote: "$100? You're getting ripped off lady." While a third said: "Only $100 a week? In THIS economy??"

Others said her marriage wasn't something to boast about, one person added: "Being 28 and married to a 51-year -old that you had to hit on is not a flex. Also she had to hit on him and then do everything for him to get a relationship? Yikes. Daddy issues."

But Alyssa claims it's the best option. She said: "The alternative is going to an actual job with an actual boss, keep in mind that's a man that doesn't care about you, you clock in, you clock out, you're not on his mind he would fire you tomorrow. My husband is not going to fire me tomorrow. I think that it's much more romantic than that but if we have to call it labour it's not the worst job out there."

Alyssa has called feminists "clowns" and believes it's a "completely unnecessary female supremacy movement". She said her opinions about traditional gender roles mean feminists "hate" her meanwhile, Tom has been called a "white supremacist" by trolls online.

But the couple's traditional dynamic isn't the only controversial part of their relationship, their big age gap has also been criticised. Alyssa said her friends and family were concerned when she first started dating Tom because of how much older he was.

"I think my mum was really worried," She recalled. However, Tom had nothing but "positive feedback" from his friends.

He said: "All my buddies are in their 40s, early 50s like myself and they're like 'Damn dude, you got a 27-year-old?!'" Despite the criticism they've received, Alyssa insists she and Tom are happier than most couples.

"I think most modern relationships are unhappy, I think men act like women, I think women act like men and when they get together they have a really unbalanced dynamic. I think the whole culture we have right now in America wants you to be single, fat, depressed and childless," she said.
