Netflix star Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar has been found dead with his hands and feet tied.
The Colombian actor, who starred in the 2020 Netflix film Lavaperros, was found on 20 November in the city of Tulua. According to local media, Muñoz had multiple machete wounds on his body.
It has been reported that officers believe the actor was bludgeoned with a machete in what the police suspect is an armed robbery.

The police have revealed that a 19-year-old, who has not been named, has been arrested as a suspect. They told local media outlets: “The Valle Police Department reports that thanks to the timely information provided by citizens, the capture of a 19-year-old man was achieved, who had allegedly participated in the homicide of Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar, a renowned actor from a Colombian film.”
“The subjects who caused injuries then fled the scene, but thanks to information from the community, one of them was captured.” Tributes have flooded in for the actor and as reported by The Sun, one fan said: “So much evil, so much pain.”
Another took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and typed: “It is with great sadness that I learned today of the violent death of Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar, who played Yoiner in the movie ‘Lavaperros’. He was 23-years-old and had a promising future in music and acting. Rest in peace.”
According to The Sun, another fan has said: “My God…how sad! God help his family with this horrible pain.” Others wished him to “fly high” and “rest in peace” as they noted “how horrible this news is”.
The motive is not yet known and the investigation into Kevin’s death continues.
Tovar’s breakout role saw him as a secondary character in Lavaperros, which was directed by Carlos Moreno. The film followed a man in financial struggles with a loan shark on his tail.
Kevin also starred in the Apple TV series Echo 3, which is about an American scientist kidnapped by militants. The storyline follows her husband and brother as they try to rescue her.
