Australia and Chelsea star Sam Kerr – who finished runner-up in the Ballon d'Or – has agreed to tie the knot with fellow football star Kristie Mewis.
Kerr was one of the standout stars of the Women's World Cup, but even her stunning solo effort couldn't stop England from dumping them out of the competition. The Aussie was also on top form for Chelsea, earning her second in the Ballon d'Or behind Aitana Bonmati.
Mewis, on the other hand, plays stateside for NWSL outfit NJ/NY Gotham FC as well as the USWNT. The pair shared the good news on Instagram with the caption: "September 1st, 2023."

Rumours have been rife that the pair were to be married after eagle-eyed fans spotted an engagement ring on Kerr in a social media snap. However, almost three months since the engagement, the pair have now gone public with the good news.
Mewis didn't have a succesful World Cup campaign as her other half, but she was thankful to have Kerr by her side in the dissapointment.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: "[She's] my biggest supporter, always listening to me nag and complain all, all of my crazy antics!"
