In the sleepy Irish countryside late last month, an old manor house was alive with kinky couples sipping Champagne to toast the beginning of a secret sex party.

Inside the historic building were live entertainers and a chef who were hired to make the the private event as memorable as possible.

And under the smoke machines that night were Gage and Olivia, a husband and wife hailing from Lincoln who are famed in Britain for making swinging less stigmatised.

They were recently invited to the Emerald Isle after launching their SwingHub business, an app helping other like-minded couples to enjoy the lifestyle.

And Olivia, better known online as Vista Wife, spoke to the Daily Star after declaring on Instagram: “Ireland you was amazing. I’ve never experienced a party like this before.”

Calling from her home in Lincolnshire, she set the scene for our curious readers about what it was like. Starting off, she said: “It was basically in the middle of nowhere and we really struggled to find the venue but once we found it, it was phenomenal.

“It was this really old manor house and it was Halloween weekend and it was so authentic and everybody had to dress as vampires and things.

“We got there and we were welcomed with a glass of Champagne and he (Graeme, event organiser) had a Champagne tower as well so that is what we walked into.

“He really does go all out and it is purely for the love of it and bringing the community together. The food was all set out, a chef came and did canapes and then we walked into the main hall and that is where we did a little thank you for coming and Gage did a speech telling people about SwingHub and that is when the burlesque show happened.

“Then there was more socialising and we had tours around the house and there was a games area as well so there was darts and pool and everybody was having a few competitions.

“And then they we all gathered in the main area and we watched a contortionist and then it was like ‘right guys…’”

This is probably the bit you were all waiting for… and laughing, Olivia continued: “It’s always 11-o-clock, that is like the golden hour and everyone is like ‘right I have had enough of this outfit now’. A lot of women like to get dressed down and get in their nice lingerie and kind of parade around a little bit.

“A lot of people decided not to play and go back to their own hotels that they were staying in that night but there were two open playrooms that some people decided to play in.”

Considering this isn’t an E.L. James novel, we won’t go into graphic detail about what happened in the playrooms, but you can probably use your imagination.

But what we can say is there were up to 50 people at the saucy party that was a 90 minute drive away from Dublin where a couples ticket cost €250.

The married couple believe swinging is becoming much more normalised

Olivia and Gage, who enjoyed pints of Guinness in Temple Bar with their SwingHub colleagues the night before the party, are childhood sweethearts who have been married for over a decade and they have been in an open relationship for years.

And Olivia said they were surprised with just how popular swinging is in Ireland. “The scene is very underground,” she said. “I think it is more the religious side of things.

“But the lifestyle is much bigger than we expected from talking to a lot of people at the party. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming to us.”

It has been over two years since the pair first opened up about becoming swingers in an exclusive interview with the Daily Star where they said it was “ok to want more”.

And she believes that so much has changed from that first conversation. Explaining what she meant, she said: “I think it is definitely on the verge of becoming quite normalised, especially in the younger generation.

“I think in your early 20s it is so normal not to put labels on relationships and people are very free spirited with their sexuality.

“You have a lot more education on it now and everybody is not as caring as much and not as judgemental I think, 20s to 40s is very open and we have seen a massive switch.

“I think there is more sex positive TV programmes and influences talking about it and there’s podcasts and a lot of people are just embracing it now and kind of owning it and there is a massive shift from a couple of years ago definitely.”
