The teacher who was suspended after it emerged she was flogging X-rated content online has said she is sometimes "scared" to leave the house.

Brianna Coppage, 28, was initially suspended from her job working as an English teacher at St Clair High School in Missouri, US, but ultimately decided to quit the classroom and focus on her adult film career.

She is now making far more money on a well-known subscription site than she was as a teacher. She has also appeared on a number of podcasts talking about her unique experience.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Josh Terry Podcast on YouTube, Brianna described what it was like when local news outlets in Missouri first broke the story. She said: "When those first news articles came out, I didn't leave my house for three days. I still won't go into certain local places, like this smoothie place, because I'm so scared that I'm going to be judged so hardcore."

Brianna went on to recount one particular experience at her local McDonald's that put her on edge. She said: "I was in the McDonald's drive-thru and people were like, 'Oh my gosh', whispering and handing me my food."

However, the teacher-turned-adult star is starting to move past this anxiety. She added: "I just can't, I don't know. I feel like I am moving past that and to the other side. But it's just a lot sometimes."

Brianna, who has both a bachelor's and a master's degree in education, previously said she started selling X-rated content to supplement her salary and help pay off student loans. She was reportedly making up to $8,000 (£6,500) a month from flogging racy snaps and videos, on top of her $42,000 (£34,500) yearly salary as a teacher.

After making the decision to leave, she told The Messenger: "I don't want to fight the school district. I'm just ready for peace. I knew that nothing was ever going to be the same if I went back so that was just the best option.

"I don't want the school to continue getting hate. I would like the education of students to be able to return to normal, they deserve to have a great year."
