Real Madrid star Toni Kroos is being offered to the Premier League elite.

The five-time Champions League winner is no longer a regular pick for the Spanish giants. Six of his 12 appearances this season have come from the bench.

And with his current Real contract entering its final eight months, Kroos is available for a move – and keen to look elsewhere to bring the curtain down on his glittering career. Both Manchester clubs, Newcastle and Chelsea are among those in and around the top half of the table aware of the situation surrounding the German central midfielder, who turns 34 in January.

Kroos played under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich and almost signed for Manchester United a decade ago when David Moyes was at the Old Trafford helm. If unlikely to be needed by Treble holders City any time soon, under pressure Reds boss Erik ten Hag could be interested in a short-term, cut-price deal in the New Year.

Newcastle, whose new midfielder Sandro Tonali, has just been banned for ten months over illegal betting on football, and Moyes’ West Ham are also monitoring developments. If there are no immediate takers over here for Kroos, who retired from international football two years ago on 106 caps, that is certain to change next summer when he becomes a free agent.

Toni Kroos could be heading to the Premier League soon

Once into the last six months of his Bernabeu deal, the 2014 World Cup winner can start negotiations with any club outside of Spain – and it appears a crack in the English top flight definitely appeals. Kroos has fallen behind Jude Bellingham in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

The young Englishman has been outstanding since swapping Germany for Spain, with Kroos among his many admirers. Speaking earlier this season, he said: "I have a very good feeling about him [Bellingham] because I think he's incredibly mature for his age - not just mentally, that he's already very far, but also with the way he plays football.

"He's very, very far, doesn't do hara-kiri things, is always clear in his actions, works, tries to play to his strengths to the full. "A lot of other people at that age still make a lot of hara-kiri, a lot of technical and tactical mistakes.

"You don't see that much with him. So far I have to say that he is already an absolute asset to our game. That means something, because we're not a completely blind team. The fact that a 20-year-old enriches us right from the start is a good sign."
